Foster a Pet
There are many reasons our shelter desperately needs foster homes. Sometimes the animal is too young and fragile to be in the shelter and requires time in a stress-free environment to gain health and strength. Sometimes it can become overwhelmed or stressed in the shelter and this greatly impacts its health. Frequently, the numbers of animals we have is so great, we struggle to cope with the demand.
If you would like to help by temporarily fostering a needy animal, please contact us at .
If you would like to contribute to the Miramichi SPCA but do not wish to be an active Board Member then becoming a Volunteer is the answer for you. Volunteers do anything from bake goodies for our Bake Sale, participate in fundraisers, carry out handy-work, or volunteer around the shelter. You tell us how you would like to help! Please fill out the forms below and drop them off at the shelter or email them to:
Once all forms are completed you may volunteer at your convenience Tuesday to Saturday between 12-3. Please note volunteers must be 16 years or older or be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Become a Board Member
Miramichi SPCA Board Members help operate the shelter and achieve strategic direction. We are always in need of fresh ideas and action-oriented contributors. Contact the shelter to find out when the next board meeting is scheduled. We welcome new faces and those who wish to volunteer and help.
Donate at the Pet Love and Care (PLC) vet clinic
Make a cash donation at the Pet Love and Care (PLC) veterinary clinic on behalf of the Miramichi SPCA. This will help pay for our costly monthly veterinary bills.
PLC is located at 183 King St., Miramichi, NB.
As proof of donation, bring your PLC receipt to the shelter and we will write you a charitable receipt.
Contribute to Donation Boxes
Contribute to the donation boxes located in many caring businesses around the community.
Give Your Recyclable Bottles
An easy way to give is to drop off your recyclables at Hebert's Bottle Exchange located at 293 Wellington Street. Ask them to donate your money to the Miramichi SPCA. It's as easy as that.
Alternatively, you can leave your spare bottles in the designated exterior kennel outside the animal shelter. You can drop these off at a time convenient for you. A few bottles or many...every little bit counts.
Whatever you're able to contribute or donate, THANK YOU. We can't do this without your help.
